About the Role:

Collective is looking to hire a Senior Accountant to help build a world class finance & accounting team! As the second hire in the finance department, this will be a foundational role that will help the company scale efficiently and set the company's finance departme nt for success in the future. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking for a role that is both operational, but also strategic as we are constantly thinking about how to shape and set goals for the finance department.

⚒️ Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of key accounting functions which includes month end close reconciliations, our accounts payable process, and administration of our expense management platform
  • Review month end reconciliations, expense accruals and other accounts as part of our close process
  • Work closely with the Controller to help draft and propose accounting policies and procedures to help scale the department and company
  • Partner cross-functionally with other departments to execute on company wide initiatives and be able to think through ways to improve on processes
  • Assist in the administration of our financial operations softwares such as QBO, Ramp, Stripe, etc.
  • Support in ad hoc projects and be able to work collaboratively within finance and other departments.

🙌 What we want you to bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 4+ years of experience in preferably a startup environment or a mix of public accounting and industry experience
  • Strong knowledge of general financial accounting and understanding of accounting rules and procedures of US GAAP
  • Ability to quickly understand systems and be able to streamline processes
  • Proficiency with previous accounting systems and expense management systems such as QBO, Remote.com, Ramp and Stripe
  • Positive attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative startup environment
  • Attention to detail but can also see the big picture. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and manage relationships with key stakeholders
  • Thrives in a less structured environment and is able to work well with multiple departments
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and coordinate multiple conflicting priorities and meet strict deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills

What we offer in return:

Compensation Range: $103,000-$130,000 USD annual base salary.

The salary ranges for the roles are posted for your convenience and review. Please understand that if an offer is presented, the offer compensation package will be based on the relevant position related skills a candidate demonstrates during our formal interview process.
