About the role:

We are looking for a Senior Manager of People Operations to lead our HR team as we enter our next phase of growth. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will be responsible for developing and executing the strategy for our HR processes and programs. You will oversee the entire employee lifecycle, including onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, performance management, employee engagement, learning and development, and offboarding.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead and manage the HR function, setting strategic direction for Settle’s people initiatives.
  • Oversee global payroll, benefits, and HR-related compliance activities.
  • Develop and manage the HR roadmap, including the administration of people programs and policies such as leaves, benefits, compensation, headcount planning, and the employee handbook.
  • Continuously improve the employee onboarding process for new hires.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure employees are paid on time and accurately.
  • Partner with legal to ensure federal, state, and local employment laws compliance.
  • Serve as the employee point of contact for day-to-day HR needs.
  • Develop employee career paths and lead the biannual performance review process.
  • Manage employee engagement surveys and action planning.
  • Alongside the COO, act as a trusted advisor and coach to leadership, managers, and employees on HR-related issues.
  • Own employee recognition programs and engagement initiatives promoting the company’s values and culture.
  • Manage our HRIS and other HR tools, ensuring they are utilized effectively to streamline processes and enhance the employee experience.
  • Lead in creating learning and development opportunities to enhance employee skills and career growth.
  • Manage and oversee our internal Recruiter.

What you’ll need:

  • 5–7 years of experience in People Operations/HR, ideally within a high-growth B2B fintech or startup environment.
  • 5+ years of hands-on people management experience.
  • Proven experience in establishing HR infrastructure in a startup setting.
  • Strong customer service mindset with the ability to handle situations professionally and empathetically.
  • Capable of strategic thinking while effectively managing day-to-day HR administrative tasks.

Nice to have:

  • Experience managing Rippling HR software.
  • Proven ability to work in a remote environment.
  • Global HR experience with an understanding of diverse workforces and international employment practices.

Compensation:

This role has an annual starting salary range of $150,000-170,000 + equity + benefits. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to your individual skills and experience.
