THE ROLE

We are seeking a skilled and motivated IT Support Specialist to join our fast-growing finance startup. As an IT Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our company's technology infrastructure. Your responsibilities will encompass assisting employees with technical issues, managing hardware and software systems, and implementing robust security measures to protect sensitive financial data. The ideal candidate should possess strong problem-solving skills and excellent communication abilities.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • End-user Support: Provide prompt and reliable technical assistance to all employees, resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues effectively.
  • System Administration: Manage and maintain the company's IT infrastructure, including Google Workspaces and Microsoft Active Directory.
  • Security Implementation: Implement and maintain robust security protocols and measures to safeguard sensitive financial data and intellectual property. Monitor systems for potential security breaches and take proactive steps to prevent cyber threats.
  • Software and Hardware Management: Procure, install, configure, and update hardware and software solutions needed for various business processes.
  • IT Documentation: Maintain detailed and up-to-date documentation of the IT environment, including network diagrams, system configurations, and user guides. Ensure that all procedures and processes are well-documented for future reference.
  • Technology Planning: Collaborate with other team members and management to assess the IT needs of the company. Propose and implement technology upgrades, enhancements, and cost-effective solutions that align with business goals.
  • User Training: Conduct training sessions for employees to enhance their IT proficiency and promote best practices for using technology resources securely and efficiently.
  • Vendor Management: Liaise with IT vendors and oversee hardware and software procurement.
  • Stay Current with industry trends: Keep up-to-date with the latest developments in IT and finance.

To be successful in this role, you:

  • Proven experience as an IT Support Specialist or similar role
  • Knowledge of operating systems (Windows and macOS)
  • Experience with Google Workspaces and Microsoft Active Directory
  • Familiarity with security practices and protocols to safeguard financial data.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based systems and services would be advantageous.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, or ITIL are a plus.

THE OPPORTUNITY

  • You will be working with a highly experienced and driven team where, alongside your day-to-day activities, you will learn the ins and outs of creating and growing a technology company.
  • You will be working remotely, but getting together IRL at regular intervals to establish personal and meaningful relationships with your team and the rest of the company.
  • A base salary of up to £35,000 DOE

We are a remote first business however, most of our team comes into the office 1-2 days a week depending on their role for in person collaboration. Whoever takes on this role should be comfortable with commuting into our London office.
