Who are we?

Finance teams need clear visibility into their cash flow, but most still rely on Excel to manually track data across multiple bank accounts. This makes it hard to see real-time cash positions, spot trends, and drive smarter financial decisions.

Nilus changes that.

We're building an AI-powered cash management platform that gives finance teams real-time cash visibility, forecasting, and reconciliation—all powered by AI, eliminating manual work and unlocking insights that help businesses grow.

Backed by top VCs like Bessemer, Felicis, BTV, and Symbol, Nilus is a fast-growing fintech startup led by a team of ex-fintech pros passionate about transforming the finance function.

What We’re Looking For:

Nilus is seeking a Finance Lead to take full ownership of the company’s financial operations. This is the first internal finance position, responsible for managing all financial functions without reliance on external service providers (except for external auditors and potentially payroll processors).

As the sole finance leader, you will oversee accounting, controlling, bookkeeping, financial reporting, FP&A, payroll, tax compliance, and budgeting for both the Israeli entity and its US subsidiary. You will build and maintain efficient financial processes, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and strategic financial planning to support Nilus’s growth.

Additionally, this role offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the fintech world. Our product serves finance teams, and your insights and expertise will be a valuable asset in shaping how Nilus supports financial professionals.

We are looking for someone with experience scaling a startup from $1M to $10M+, either leading the finance function or being part of a team that successfully navigated that growth. A strong background in FP&A and treasury is a significant advantage.

This is a hands-on role that requires both execution and high-level financial leadership.

What you’ll be doing

  • Take over all financial functions previously handled by external providers handeling all accounting, bookkeeping, and financial reporting in-house.
  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Oversee and execute tax filings, VAT, and compliance in both Israel and the US.
  • Maintain cash flow management, working capital, and financial controls.
  • Lead financial audits in coordination with external auditors.
  • Develop and maintain budgeting, forecasting, and financial models.
  • Provide financial insights to support decision-making and business growth.
  • Ensure cost control, profitability analysis, and strategic financial planning.
  • Implement financial systems and processes to support scale and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with Israeli and US tax and regulatory requirements.
  • Handle statutory and management reporting for both entities.
  • Work closely with the CEO and leadership team on financial strategy and business planning.
  • Support fundraising efforts, investor relations, and financial due diligence.
  • Optimize financial structures to support growth and operational efficiency.
  • Leverage your financial expertise to contribute product insights as Nilus builds solutions for finance teams.

Your qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) – Must-have.
  • 7+ years of experience in finance, preferably in a startup or high-growth tech environment, with proven experience owning and driving financial strategy, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash management.
  • Hands-on expertise in FP&A, financial modeling, and scenario planning to support strategic decision-making.
  • Strong expertise in Israeli and US accounting standards, taxation, and regulatory compliance, able to independently establish and execute financial processes, policies, and internal controls.
  • Experience with cash flow management and working capital optimization.
  • Experience scaling financial operations in a fast-growing startup (ideally from $1M to $10M+ in revenue).
  • Background in treasury operations, liquidity planning, and capital allocation – a strong plus.
  • Experience working with US subsidiaries or international financial operations – a plus.
  • Exposure to venture-backed startups, fundraising, and investor relations – a plus.
