Position overview
We’re looking for a highly experienced and entrepreneurial Founding Full-Stack Engineer to join our core team. As one of the first engineers at Inscope, you’ll play a pivotal role in designing, building, and scaling the core platform that powers financial reporting.
You’ll work across the stack — from developing elegant, high-performance frontends in React to designing and implementing backend services and infrastructure. You’ll collaborate closely with the founding team to define the technical direction of the company and help bring our AI-driven financial reporting products from 0 → 1.
This role is ideal for someone who wants to build deeply technical systems with meaningful impact, thrive in ambiguity, and move fast in a pre–Series A startup environment.
Key responsibilities
Lead the development of core front-end interfaces using React
Design, architect, and implement scalable backend systems, APIs, and data workflows
Manage AWS deployments and infrastructure, ensuring security, reliability, and scalability
Collaborate with the founding team to define technical strategy, product architecture, and roadmap
Help establish engineering best practices, tooling, and a strong technical culture
Ship high-quality features rapidly, with a focus on customer value and reliability
Contribute to decisions around technical tradeoffs, architecture, and system design as we scale
What we’re looking for
7+ years of professional software engineering experience
5+ years of production React experience, with expert-level knowledge of frontend architecture, performance optimization, and scalable UI development
Solid full-stack experience, including proficiency in at least one backend language such as Node.js, Python, Java, or Go
Hands-on experience designing and building backend services, APIs, and microservice architectures
Strong understanding of AWS — deployments, infrastructure as code, scaling, and monitoring
Strong understanding of data modeling and database design (SQL and/or NoSQL)
Passion for building world-class products and shaping early-stage company foundations
Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
Bonus points for
Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment (pre–Series A)
Experience architecting and launching a product from 0 → 1
Exposure to AI/ML products or LLM-driven systems
Prior experience leading or mentoring engineers
Contributions to open-source projects or technical writing
