Position overview
We’re looking for a driven and ambitious Founding Full-Stack Engineer to be a critical member of our team. As a Founding Engineer, you'll contribute to the design and development of our AI systems, taking ownership of critical features and infrastructure that power our platform's intelligence.
Your primary focus will be building and optimizing our AI-driven backends and workflows, while also contributing to front-end development for a complete product perspective. You'll work directly with our founding team as we build an Intelligent platform that delivers transformative experiences to accounting teams at mid-market companies and enterprises.

Challenges you’re likely to face
As the fourth engineer on our team, you will have the opportunity to shape fundamental aspects of our technology and culture. The decisions you make will impact every single engineer who works at InScope in the future.
We're early, and while we have a strong vision, our product roadmap is loosely defined. You'll work closely with the founding team to help best serve our users, choosing features to prioritize, and figuring out how to build them.
Building 0-1 products, cutting through ambiguity to deliver customer value.
You'll get deep in the details of ERP and other accounting systems, aggregating millions of customer transactions by following complex accounting guidance rules.
What you need to be successful
3-4+ years of experience in software engineering, with demonstrable skills in AI/ML systems development
Experience in developing and deploying LLM-driven products, with a passion for exploring emerging AI technologies to build innovative solutions
Experience with AI model integration, prompt engineering, and AI-assisted workflow design
Strong proficiency in at least one server-side programming language (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java, Go), with a deep understanding of backend development, APIs, and micro-service architectures.
Familiarity with modern JavaScript framework such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
Experience with relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB) databases.
Exceptional communication skills. You can effectively talk (and listen) to founders, designers, non-technical colleagues, and customers.
An understanding of how to follow software engineering best practices (TDD, CI/CD, code reviews, feature flagging, A/B testing, etc.), and the ability to know when to set them aside and ship without them.
Comfort with ambiguity and ability to make sound technical decisions while clearly articulating trade-offs.
Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced AI startup environment.
