Job Description

Role Overview:

We are looking for a seasoned professional to lead our LERT function, responsible for proactively managing field-level frauds, coordinating recoveries, and ensuring swift action through liaison with local police, legal enforcement bodies, and administrative authorities. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in managing escalated recovery cases and fraud interventions, with a deep network across police, legal, and enforcement agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and manage reported cases of fraud, misappropriation, or willful default.

  • Work with internal teams to ensure swift identification and flagging of fraudulent activities.

  • Drive field-level recovery of delinquent or high-risk cases through legal and enforcement support.

  • Personally lead high-value recovery efforts and escalate cases for legal intervention where needed.

  • Maintain strong working relationships with police departments, local administration, and legal enforcement bodies across operating cities.

  • Facilitate filing of FIRs, complaints, and execution of recovery orders with minimal turnaround time.

  • Collaborate with the legal team to initiate appropriate legal actions (civil/criminal) in fraud and recovery cases.

  • Ensure all actions are in line with legal and regulatory standards.

  • Maintain a detailed tracker of ongoing fraud, recovery, and legal enforcement cases.

  • Provide weekly and monthly updates to senior management with outcomes, risks, and action plans.

  • Conduct training sessions for city teams on fraud red flags, immediate escalation processes, and SOPs related to high-risk customer behavior.

Preferred Background:

  • Experience in gold loan, consumer finance, or unsecured loan collections
  • Ex-police/law enforcement/retired defense personnel with relevant fraud/recovery experience can be considered
  • Candidates with legal education or enforcement certifications will be given preference

Requirements

Key Requirements:

  • 6–10 years of experience in fraud control, enforcement, field recovery, or related legal functions, preferably in financial services, NBFC, or fintech.
  • Proven experience handling fraud and recovery cases on-ground with demonstrable success.
  • Strong network of contacts within local police, enforcement agencies, and legal circles.
  • Excellent understanding of legal procedures related to recovery and fraud cases.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and crisis management skills.
  • Ability to travel at short notice and manage operations in multiple cities.
