We’re backed by leading fintech investors, including Fin Capital and Better Tomorrow Ventures, and this year, we are on track to triple our business, profitably.
2025 was an inflection point for our subscription business; we crossed 100 institutional customers through founder-led sales, with enterprise contract values, and accretive net revenue retention. We’ve proven product-market-fit and are now looking for a sales professional to build the systems and team that will take Caplight to the next level.

About the Role

As Director of Sales at Caplight, your role is to 3x (or more) our subscription ARR in 2026. You will directly benefit from this growth. You will generate leads, close deals, and build a scalable sales org. In your first 100 days, you’ll work closely with our CEO, meet customers, learn the pain points we’re solving, sell, and set the foundation for growth. After that, you tell us what to build to scale our GTM.
Responsibilities include:
Lead generation and closing. Set up inbound and outbound strategies to get qualified leads to take a Caplight demo. Repeatedly close these leads.
Optimize our sales motion. Refine our current sales process so new teammates can onboard quickly.
Build a top-tier sales org. Work alongside our Chief of Staff to hire, develop, and manage a talent-dense sales team.
Leverage sales with AI. Work with our engineers and third-party providers to automate our sales process, leveraging our human teammates to focus their time on the most value-additive moments.
Provide product insights. Work alongside our Product, Engineering, and Design teams to improve our product offering.

Qualifications

5+ years of sales experience selling B2B or enterprise SaaS, ideally within the Fintech sector or serving financial institutions.
2+ years managing high-performing teams. Demonstrated ability to lead scaling sales efforts.
1+ years of finance experience at a VC firm, investment bank, management consulting firm, or a company in the private markets space.
Ability to simplify and synthesize complex problems and communicate them effectively to clients and other stakeholders.
In-person, San Francisco-based position.
An immediate start date is required.

Expected compensation

Highly competitive compensation package with performance-based commissions and a stock option grant.
