Role Description:
As a Full-Stack Data Scientist, you will work closely with our Head of Data on all aspects of our data product—from building machine learning and statistical models to developing data pipelines, structuring data, and creating data visualizations. As part of a lean team, you’ll work daily with our product, business development, and engineering teams to translate consumer needs into valuable tools and workflows. Our clients are leading firms in the Venture Capital and Asset Management space, and you will gain exposure to their workflows and requirements. Success in this role will be measured by your ability to develop creative methods for retrieving and processing difficult-to-access public data and turning it into actionable tools for the venture capital asset class.
Responsibilities will include:
Extensive use of LLMs and similar tools to process large quantities of data, fast.
Development of MarketPrice™—think of it as the Z-estimate but for private companies like SpaceX and Stripe.
End-to-end development of new public data intake workflows.
Development of custom API versions for enterprise clients and partnerships.
We operate in a space where new financial products are constantly being created—private market indexes, put and call options for pre-IPO companies, loans against startup stock, and more. Data is at the core of this innovation, and a key responsibility in this role is to design and engineer the data components for these new products.
Requirements:
Based in San Francisco, we’re all hands on deck, working from our brand-new office next to Salesforce Park.
At least 2 years of relevant full-time professional experience in data science.
This is a broad role touching everything from data architecture to Kubernetes to Bayesian modeling. We are looking for experience in some of these domains, but not necessarily all - as long as you have the right technical foundations to learn new concepts.
Experience working closely with engineers and a product team.
Python, Google Cloud / AWS, LangChain.
STEM undergrad. Nice to have: a STEM Master’s degree.
