Business Development Associate

Location: San Francisco
We are looking for a Business Development Associate to help scale our growth efforts across all product lines. We need help building mission-critical products, selling to potential clients, and optimizing internal processes as we continue to build technology on the frontier of the capital markets.
As an early member of Caplight, you will be an integral member of the Company and make an immediate impact from day one. On top of the responsibilities outlined below, you will wear many hats across the organization and help build the foundation for future growth.
Responsibilities
Manage deal origination and execution processes for Caplight’s marketplace business. You will oversee Caplight’s deal funnel to ensure all opportunities are being addressed and progressing towards closing.
Lead new client acquisition and existing client engagement efforts across Caplight’s marketplace and data businesses.
Work alongside our Product, Engineering, and Design teams to develop client-facing materials for demo and business development efforts.
Maintain and improve internal workflows centered around project management, data storage, client engagement. This will be crucial for Caplight’s ability to scale quickly.
Help establish the future technology roadmap based on client feedback.
Qualifications
2+ years of relevant professional experience in investment banking, private markets (venture capital and private equity), or at a fast-growing fintech startup.
Demonstrated ability to simplify and synthesize complex problems and communicate them to clients and other stakeholders.
Excellent data analysis and presentation skills.
Self-starter: we are looking for individuals who can take a project from 0 to 1 even in scenarios where you may be operating with little to no direction.
Series 7 and 63 are preferred.
San Francisco based preferred.
