Basis is an AI platform for accounting firms, providing accountants with a team of AI assistants. Accounting teams delegate core workflows to Basis, automating time-consuming, manual work. The team is growing exceptionally quickly (we’ve doubled headcount over the last three months) and we need your help. We’re looking for people who crave ownership and want to move fast.

We are looking to take on an ambitious and exceptional MBA or undergraduate senior in the NYC area as an Intern for the school year.

📍 Location: NYC, Flatiron office. In-person team.

Your role

This is a full-year opportunity (through the end of the school year), with an opportunity to grow from there. There aren’t many opportunities to join fast-growing startups in the very early days, and you’ll get to participate in early company-building and take on real responsibility.

• Wear multiple hats

  • Be ready to roll up your sleeves and contribute

  • Jump across multiple projects – product, customer success, sales, recruiting, etc. on a regular basis

  • This is a startup and everyone’s got to pitch in!

  • We’ll help you refine skills – managing projects, running meetings, taking/giving feedback

  • We take a real interest in your growth (we’ve received lots of mentorship along the way too!)

• Take ownership

  • Work directly with the core team

  • Oversee projects end-to-end

  • We’ll give you real responsibility from day one and send more your way as you prove yourself

  • We have too much to do and need you to step up; there’s no ceiling here on what you can do

  • Spend time working out of our office with the fully in-person team

Essentials

• Self-starter, hungry to learn, has demonstrated excellence in some manner

• Organized, tenacious, and scrappy

• First-principles thinker

• Curious about the latest AI

• Wants to work in fast-paced environment

• Willing to commit at least 15-20 hours per week

• NYC-based and seeking in-person environment; working from office 2-5 days per week subject to availability

Bonus points

• Accounting experience

• Data science experience

• Startup experience

Additional details

This will be an educational internship, and we hope you will find it rewarding and learn a ton. That said, we plan to pay a small hourly stipend and will cover your lunch when you’re in the office for the day!

There is an opportunity to turn this into a full-time position after graduation, and we’re also happy to help with other full-time opportunities depending on your career aspirations.
